How much do breakfast burritos cost in Vancouver?
We’ll put some spice to your morning by first providing you the costing range for select breakfast burritos in Vancouver:
The Best Breakfast Burritos in Vancouver
Considering the price range that we provided, we picked restaurants or cafés which serve breakfast burritos according to the following criteria:
1. Maizal RMF
Criteria | Ratings |
Burrito variation | ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) |
Quality of burrito | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Affordability | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Opening hours | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
We’re starting this list with a restaurant that specializes in authentic Mexican cuisine. We highly recommend you try Maizal RMF (Real Mexican Flavours).
Although Maizal RMF has a very limited burrito selection, we still consider it as a must-try for our fellow readers. After all, Maizal RMF is very well-acclaimed as far as a taste of Mexico is concerned.
Maizal’s breakfast burrito is composed of three scrambled eggs, cheese, pico de gallo, beans and tortilla chips infused with green and red salsa. All of this goodness is wrapped in a 12-inch flour tortilla.
What makes the breakfast burrito is the additional fresh flavor coming from the scrambled eggs mixed with the strong and savory taste from the pico de gallo.
Its classic burrito, on the other hand, is made out of rice, beans, pico de gallo, cheese, chipotle, and a meat or vegetable of your choice. In contrast, the classic burrito maintains distinct and sharp flavors as a whole.
The burritos actually have relatively reasonable prices compared to other Mexican restaurants. The food is a little too oily for us, but the flavor and portion sizes are worth every penny.
Moreover, regular customers we’ve spoken to have mentioned that there are inconsistencies in the proportions of the ingredients. We think this is something that Maizal should look into improving.
Despite only having a single breakfast burrito option, we think it’s a great way to kickstart your day! Maizal opens at 8am and delivers all over Vancouver, making them one of our top choices for breakfast burritos in the city.
It has long dining hours as well. While you’re craving for other Mexican delight, you might want to try Maizal’s other entrees such as its flautas, tortas, nachos, and 12-inch gringa.

Easily a favorite
“Highly recommended spot for burritos and tacos. The portions here are incredibly generous. I recommend trying their chicken mole and the lamb burritos. The chicken mole is my absolute favourite and typical go to. Their burritos are packed full and the meats are super flavourful! You can’t go wrong with their tacos either, 3 should be more than enough for one person based on the portion size. This has definitely become one of my new favourite burrito and tacos places in Vancouver.” – W Lyons, Google Reviews
‘Never disappoints’
“I have been going here probably for a year now, I have brought friends to try and they never disappoint, their flavors and vegan option make it accessible to everyone, and when I say vegan, they actually took the time to make amazing vegan flavors. It’s easy to pass by and don’t notice this place is there, but it’s amazing! It’s by far my favorite Mexican place. Staff are great and friendly as well.” – Daniela Cornejo, Google Reviews
2. Roundel Café
Criteria | Ratings |
Burrito variation | ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5) |
Quality of burrito | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Affordability | ★★★☆☆ (3/5) |
Opening hours | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
Roundel Café is a family owned restaurant that’s been open since 2006. We like that it uses only locally-sourced ingredients for its menu, which contains an eclectic mix of Mexican cuisine.
Roundel has gained popularity through the years and eventually became renowned for its Mexican selection.
This is all thanks to Dena, the owner herself, who began her venture as a home cook before expanding her expertise.
However, we hate to break it to you that it only serves one burrito – a “breakfast burrito.” Worry not though, as some diners consider it as one of the best breakfast burritos in all of Vancouver!
To give you a glimpse of what’s inside this delicious wrap, it’s made out of scrambled eggs, cheddar, black beans, pico de gallo, avocado, whole wheat tortilla and is served with roasted potatoes, and salad.
You can even mix it up with an additional chorizo to add extra flavor and protein! The smoky taste of the roasted potatoes and the freshness of the salad provide more flavor to the entire dish.
We considered its breakfast burrito a must-try despite being sold at a relatively expensive price.
Take note though that Roundel serves its brunch and lunch menu at relatively shorter hours. Its opening time, however, is actually good if you’re an early bird.
Besides its breakfast burrito, Roundel also offers other Mexican delights such as huevos rancheros, huevos banados, and chilaquiles.
Aside from the usual dining hours, Roundel also opened up its dinner menu from 5 PM to 11 PM.
You can dig into more Mexican dishes and you might want to grab a bite of its guacamole and tostadas at night.
Pros
- Wide variety of food
- Well-acclaimed Mexican menu
- Long dining hours
Cons
- Literally has only one “breakfast burrito” selection in menu
- Relatively expensive price on breakfast burrito

3. Holy Guacamole
Criteria | Ratings |
Burrito variation | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
Quality of burrito | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Affordability | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Opening hours | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Holy Guacamole specializes in Mexican food and has one of the widest selection of burritos.
Holy Guacamole’s burrito comes with scrambled eggs, rice and beans, pico de gallo, and green and red salsas.
What makes it unique, in our opinion, is the addition of sour cream and that it comes wrapped in a flour tortilla.
Its breakfast burrito maintains the classic savory taste but the mix of the dip and pico de gallo brings an extra kick of sourness.
Holy Guacamole also offers other burritos with a variety of protein, fillings and styles to choose from.
Its extensive burrito selection includes beef, baja fish, special pastor, and a veggie option,to name a few.
You can’t run out of options in Holy Guacamole. It’s also a plus that the burritos are being sold at a reasonable price.
Some diners, however, have issues on quality control like inconsistency on meat quality and serving uneven proportions of ingredients. We believe there’s still room for improvement on this aspect to better serve its customers.
Still, Holy Guacamole is surely a must-try for Mexican cuisine lovers out there. Besides, don’t you find its brand name witty?
Pros
- Specializes in Mexican food
- Burritos have reasonable price
- Widest selection of burritos
Cons
- Issues on quality control
- Inconsistency on meat quality
- Uneven proportion on burrito ingredients

4. La Taqueria Pinche Taco Shop
Criteria | Ratings |
Burrito variation | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
Quality of burrito | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
Affordability | ★★★★☆ (4/5) |
Opening hours | ★★★★★ (5/5) |
La Taqueria Pinche Taco Shop is definitely a must-try when we talk about Mexican cuisine.
Since opening its doors in 2009, La Taqueria has established itself as one of the renowned Mexican restaurants in Vancouver. It has six branches in total including an on-the-go food truck.
La Taqueria offers a wide menu variety. There’s also plenty of options when it comes to its burritos.
Compared to other breakfast burritos, La Taqueria’s is made up of refried beans, chorizo con papa, scrambled eggs, guajillo sauce, green onion, and smashed avocado served on a flour tortilla.
The savory taste of the chorizo con papa mixes in just right with the spiciness brought by the guajillo sauce. The different flavors blend in well with the avocado spread.
Aside from the breakfast burrito, La Taqueria also serves different kinds of wraps such as al pastor, tinga de pollo, and rajas con crema, among others.
You can all enjoy this goodness for a reasonable price. We honestly believe, however, that La Taqueria sells its other food on its menu at a relatively expensive price.
If you’re looking for its breakfast burritos, you might want to go earlier than planned since some of its branches have relatively late breakfast and brunch services.
Certain branches of La Taqueria also have limited seating capacity. However, its food truck is on-the-go every weekend.
Pros
- Has a wide selection of burritos
- Burritos have reasonable prices
- Specializes in Mexican food
- Has many branches
- Food truck on-the-go available
Cons
- Opening hours are relatively late for breakfast (except on weekends)
- Relatively expensive food
- Limited seating capacity (for certain branches)

“It’s actually a bit interesting that I decide to give them five stars, mainly for the reason that their server came over to check me more than once while I waited for my friend for quite a while, plus they had a good idea how long an order would take.” Yves Lai, Google Reviews

The Burrow’s breakfast burritos are cooked in its own unique way too!
It contains scrambled free-run eggs, pinto beans, cumin-spiced potatoes, roasted tomato salsa, cheese, and sour cream all wrapped in a flour tortilla.
The interesting part? Its breakfast burritos are grilled to perfection.
There’s this distinct smoky flavor that infuses with the ingredients. The additional acidity and sourness from the salsa and sour cream adds a different kick to its flavors as well.
You can put additional guacamole and ranchero sauce to heighten and blend in multiple flavors in one.
Unfortunately, The Burrow’s breakfast and brunch services are only available on the weekends. Its opening hours are also relatively late for breakfast.
