OPERATING HOURS | Dine-ins: Monday – Sunday: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM Deliveries: Monday – Sunday: 4:30 PM – 10:00 PM |
Chongqing has been around for 20 years already and has built up a reputation as a local fave.
It is easy to see why people love this restaurant. They make quality dishes that also don’t skimp on quantity.
And what’s more, what they serve isn’t your typical, run-of-the-mill Chinese cuisine. What they do best here are Szechuan-style dishes.
So, better prepare to drink lots of water as Szechuan dishes are known for their spiciness!
But if you can’t stand spicy food, you don’t need to worry. They have lettuce wrap, sweet and sour pork, and more to choose from.
Chongqing also has vegetarian and vegan dishes. So, even those who have sworn off meat can still try great Szechuan dishes.
Just from these alone, we are sure that you won’t run out of food choices.
What’s also great about this restaurant is that it is also cheap! You can leave this restaurant with a full wallet and an even fuller stomach.
A downside of this restaurant is its space, though. Due to its popularity, both locations are often crowded during peak times.
Another disadvantage is that they deliver only from 4:30 PM to 10:00 PM. If you are craving one of the best Chinese dishes in Vancouver in the morning or noontime, then you’ll have to wait for quite a while to have it delivered.
Pros
- Vegan and vegetarian options
- Large meal portion
Cons
- Can be crowded during peak hours
- Afternoon to evening deliveries only
Customer Reviews
These customers love the dishes served here:
“My partner and I have ordered twice from this restaurant through Skip the Dishes. I decided upon it after doing pretty thorough research into Chinese food on Skip the Dishes and this place seemed to have the best reviews. This is our new go-to Chinese take out restaurant! And the best we have tried in the Vancouver area so far (have only been here for a few years). We tried the following— won ton soup, egg/corn soup, chowmein, spicy tofu, and sweet and sour pork, all great. It took approx. an hour each time so be prepared to wait, but it is worth it!” – Alanah C
“I order pick-up here quite frequently, you really can’t beat their Crispy Noodle Beef Chow Mein. It is a very large portion, and they always have it ready within 10 minutes of ordering. This place is always packed with families enjoying an evening out and all the food tastes delicious and is a great price for what you get.” -SoloTravel53

Serving Northern Chinese cuisine, the name of this restaurant is true. Legendary Noodle House really serves legendary noodles.
The noodles here are top-notch and unique. The chefs hand-make the noodles on their own instead of relying on store-bought ones.
In fact, if you visit Legendary Noodle House, you might even see one of the chefs here stretch and cut noodles through their open kitchen.
Watching their chef stretch noodles from the kitchen is like a free performance already. Another bonus of their open kitchen is that you can also make sure that your dish is cleanly made.
This restaurant has two locations in Vancouver, one is in West Broadway and one in Downtown Vancouver. So, you can just choose to go wherever is more convenient for you.
However, we have a small caveat about this restaurant and its two locations. Due to both of the restaurants being small, it can be pretty difficult to find this restaurant unless you’re deliberately looking for it.
Pros
- Unique handmade noodles
- Open kitchen to see their chefs
Cons
- Easy to miss in the street
Customer reviews
Here’s what some of their previous customers have to say about this restaurant:
“For someone who lived in Shanghai for 6 months I can honestly say that this is the first time a Chinese restaurant reminds me of what I ate in China, I’m usually really disappointed but this time it was like I was there again. The home made tea is really good and their noodles delicious ! All of it for a really low price and a really great welcoming and service. I highly recommend” – Coline Beltrami
“A tiny place on a lively street that is easy to miss if you don’t know. But we knew. I looked at TA and Google maps to make sure we don’t ruin our meal experience during this short visit to Vancouver. Great variety of traditional Chinese dishes, served fast and generously. Bottled Chinese beer and draft Tiger (Singapore) is a nice bonus for me. 🙂 Dim sum and noodles are outstanding!” – Anatoly K

If you can only order one thing at Ho Yuen Kee, it should be lobster with sticky rice.
Many of their customers have sung praises of their combination of lobster, sauce, and sticky rice. Many are even saying that they have one of the best lobster-with-sticky-rice dishes in Vancouver.
Ho Yuen Kee’s teas also complement their dishes well. The subtle taste of tea doesn’t get in the way of the rich flavor of their signature dishes.
Even with its popularity, Ho Yuen Kee’s pricing still remains quite affordable and the dishes are still served with generous portions. This makes it popular for those who want to try some of Vancouver’s best Chinese foods.
Be informed though that as Ho Yuen Kee is a popular restaurant, the service quality might suffer during peak hours.
But if you don’t mind having long waits for your order, or waiting to get a table, we recommend that you visit this restaurant.
Pros
- Amazing signature dishes
- Large meal portions
Cons
- Service quality can be bad
Customer reviews
These customers have also praised Ho Yuen Kee’s specialty dishes:
“I went to this restaurant for the first time yesterday and was blown away by the food. The Crab Sticky Rice is so good that I’d go back again just for that! The rest of the food we ordered was delicious as well.” – Al May
“A trusted place for very good cantonese food. The seafood is excellent especially their specialty – lobster dish over sticky rice. The restaurant atmosphere is typical for a Chinese restaurant – It’s a little bit crowded and busy which make its loud at times.” – Joshua L

Landmark Hot Pot House is one of the first restaurants in Vancouver to offer hotpots.
Customers have previously praised Landmark Hotpot House for their authentic Cantonese hotpot. It was also the best hotpot restaurant in Vancouver in 2014.
We’re not surprised by the praises given. This Landmark Hotpot House is one of a kind.
The restaurant uses the freshest ingredients for its dishes. They can even serve live seafood, ensuring that you will have the best ingredients for your hotpot.
Unlike other hot pot restaurants with combos on the menu, Landmark Hotpot House allows you to customize your hot pot. Their menu shows the ingredients that you can order separately.
However, this freedom to customize your hot pot has a downside.
Since you will be ordering each ingredient separately, you will also need to pay for each ingredient. If you’re not careful, this can result in a hefty bill.
Pros
- Fresh ingredients
- Hot pot customization
Cons
- This restaurant can be quite expensive

“Waygu beef will melt in your mouth! The soup base is so favourable. I usually drink 2 bowls before I even put any hot pot ingredients in. Very good quality, just a bit pricy but worth it.” – Lillian C

This tiny hole-in-a-wall restaurant serves good Chinese food in Vancouver.
Super Chef Grill has a good number of classic Chinese foods on its menu. While not as unique as other Chinese restaurants in the area, this restaurant still shines in its own way.
As this is a family-owned restaurant, you can expect the owners to talk to you. And from what we’ve heard from other reviewers, they’re really friendly!
Another good thing about this restaurant is its fast service. The food is made and served quickly, so no need to ask your server when your food is going to arrive.

Customer reviews
The previous customers of this restaurant showed their love not just for the food, but also for the owners.
“This place is SOOO good!!! Really good for takeout, they are really fast. They also offer free iced tea, hot tea and water if you eat in. So far I’ve tried the teriyaki chicken and curry chicken medium spice. Both were delicious. The chef and wife are both incredibly nice and genuinely care about you enjoying your food. The only downside of this place is the decor lol. Super tacky and old school look. Don’t let this steer you away though, the food itself is great!” – Hanna K
“Great Food, Great Value, Great Service and Amazing Owners. This is a small, family owned little gem of a business working hard to serve you the best meal ever!!! Definitely a Must Try Restaurant….Enjoy!!” – Warren Robertson

Street Auntie is a restaurant that specializes in providing you with a contemporary twist on your favorite Chinese comfort street food. They have developed a fusion and concept from the traditional and soul of Chinese comfort food and have then formally made their debut in the Vancouver area.
Each dish is a reflection and inspired from the owner’s childhood and in respect of her experience with her aunties. Thus, their very own menu is patterned in this sense and is divided into their own unique twist of Butcher Auntie, Ocean Auntie, Yunnan Auntie, Dim Sum Auntie, and Vegetarian Auntie.
Though the dining experience is accepting only private dining, their staff is ready and accommodating to address all of your booking and queries should this be your first time dining with them. They have since then extended their personalized catering experiences to the presence of your homes or to anywhere you wish your food to be delivered.

Customer reviews
Here are some reviews from their clients:
“Great good and service in a small bar seating mostly restaurant. The owner yuyina came out with the tray of dessert was a nice touch. I loved the fusion style Chinese food. The foie gras was delicious and I wish it was a constant on the menu. The geoduck was great. The chicken rice that we took away was also delicious. I will be back for the Chinese New Year menu.”
“Got delivered on Uber eats so it was different than eating there and different food and menu. But super fun and very tasty and reasonable. Came with three dim sum that were large and excellent. Then salad and some pickled vegetables, main course I got was chicken chow mein and it ended with a small fortune cookie with some mint white chocolate on it. All for $28 so pretty nice. Would like them to describe what the mains actually are as some r u familiar to me on the delivery menu if possible. Will definitely order again! Wish they had the fancy desserts they have in the restaurant for delivery but just happy they deliver!”
