Addah is an elegant, casual continental restaurant that serves Himalayan staples such as momo, t-momo, and syafaley, as we’ve seen in the restaurant’s menu.

These dishes are made with wheat flour, so we’ve noticed it’s a little bland. That’s why we recommend you order the “Pork Tomahawk” so you can dip it in the pork’s marinade sauce for extra flavor.

We honestly think that this restaurant is more suitable for date nights or formal business meetings as their interior and overall ambiance are far from casual. We liked it as it creates a more sophisticated dining experience.

So, if you’re looking for a laid-back atmosphere or family-friendly environment, this may not be the best choice.

Now, as for the food, we especially liked the “Pheasant Two Ways”, which had the right balance of salty and savory. We also found the presentation of the dish impressive, from the vegetables to the cooked pheasant.

Since there’s always room for dessert, we also recommend you order the “Tsampa”. This Himalayan staple consists of various grains folded in burnt butter, coconut sugar, and nuts.

Another thing we liked is that they can cater to numerous dietary restrictions, such as vegetarian, vegan, and nut-free diets.

In our opinion, this is beneficial for customers with food allergies or special diets, as they can enjoy the meals without worrying about their health.

We’re just a bit iffy that you would need to wait for more than 30 minutes for your food to get served, as all dishes are made to order. Therefore, if you’re hungry and looking for a quick bite, we advise you to dine elsewhere.

Nevertheless, we thought to include Addah on our list of the best continental restaurants in Vancouver because of their tasty Himalayan staples and sleek restaurant ambiance.

Pros

  • Serves Himalayan staples
  • More ideal for date nights
  • Beautifully arranged plates
  • Can accommodate numerous dietary restrictions

Cons

  • Closed on Sundays
  • Long waiting time for orders

Another option worth considering is the Top of Vancouver Revolving Restaurant. This continental fine-dining restaurant provides a one-of-a-kind experience as diners are given scenic views of the city, the coastal mountains, and the ocean.

This restaurant is situated 553 ft (168m) high with large windows that are angled for viewing. We found this impressive as we think it enhances the whole dining experience.

They serve a wide variety of food staples of the Mediterranean regions, such as pasta, seafood, and grilled meats.

But our top pick has got to be their “BBQ Baby Back Pork Ribs”, as this dish has made our visit to the Top of Vancouver Revolving Restaurant worth every penny.

It’s smothered with their housemade bbq sauce, and we especially liked the presentation of this dish as, despite the abundance of sauce, the ribs were not overly messy to eat.

The second recommendation we have is perfect for those who enjoy seafood. We tried their “Stuffed Salmon,” and it was delicious, and the portion size was perfect for a filling meal.

Unfortunately, we’re not big fans of their relatively higher prices. However, we believe the price is reasonable considering the portion sizes and overall quality of the food, as well as the breathtaking view of the city while dining.

All in all, if you’re looking for one of the best continental restaurants in Vancouver, we think you should dine with the Top of Vancouver Revolving Restaurant. It may cost you a bit more but the overall experience, in our opinion, is worth it.

Pros

  • Open seven days a week
  • Fine dining above 553 feet the city
  • Wide variety of food staples of the Mediterranean regions
  • Generous portion size

Cons

  • Relatively pricey meals
  • No online reservation system

Cioppino’s Mediterranean Grill is another fine dining continental restaurant that focuses on serving Italian food. They have a classy interior with an open kitchen, so chefs are able to socialize with guests while cooking their orders.

We found this concept to be quite impressive, as we believe it adds a personal touch to the dining experience.

Another thing that caught our attention is the large dining patio in front of their restaurant. We felt that it’s a perfect spot for outdoor dining and enjoying the beautiful weather.

Perhaps what sets this restaurant apart is the fact that it has one of the largest wine cellars in Vancouver. This restaurant’s wine list is just endless, with over 300 different wines from all over the world to choose from.

While we can’t endorse just one wine, we recommend you ask their friendly staff for their expert opinion on the perfect pairing for your meal, which we absolutely love.

Speaking of food, our top pick has got to be their Tagliolini con funghi. The pasta is cooked with mushroom sauce and topped with mushrooms sautéed with shallots, which we honestly think is best paired with red wine.

For dessert, we think their PinoCaramore is a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth. This delectable treat is made with 41% milk chocolate with blueberries and strawberries, which brings out a rich and creamy flavor.

That said, we were a bit disappointed that they can’t accommodate special diets such as gluten-free or vegan options. We thought it would’ve been great if they could provide more inclusive menu choices for customers with dietary restrictions.

Even so, we still think they’re one of the best continental restaurants in Vancouver for their personalized dining experience and their modern take on Mediterranean dishes.

Pros

  • Has an open kitchen concept
  • Large dining patio available for dine-in customers
  • Over 300 different wines from all over the world

Cons

  • Frequently booked
  • Limited vegetarian options

Au Comptoir is a quaint continental restaurant in Kitsilano that serves classic French dishes and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Perhaps what impressed us the most about this restaurant is their seasonal menus. We think this gives customers a different dining experience every time they visit Au Comptoir.

From what we’ve tasted, our top pick on their menu is the honey glazed duck breast. This dish is put on top of parsley cream and served with heirloom carrots, turnips, and kumquat.

It tastes sweet and savory, but the parsley cream adds a fresh and succulent element.

We also recommend ordering their “Kaluga Queen caviar”, served with their housemade crème fraîche and buckwheat toast. It’s a perfect pair to any meal on their menu!

However, if there’s one drawback we’ve observed with them, it’s that they don’t take reservations and are strictly on a first come, first serve basis.

This may be an inconvenience to customers who want to plan ahead instead of lining up to get a table.

Despite these limitations, many of the customers we’ve spoken with praise how great their service was. The restaurant was accommodating even during peak hours.

All in all, we think Au Comptoir deserved a spot on our list as they offer a delightful French dining experience and are open for every meal of the day.

Pros

  • Serves classic French dishes
  • Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Changing seasonal menu

Cons

  • Doesn’t take reservations
  • Takeout service not available

Bodega on Main is an intimate continental restaurant along Main street. It has a 75-seat lounge and dining area with leather seating, carved stools, and vintage artwork that provides diners an authentic Spanish dining experience.

They opened in 2015 and we honestly think it’s the perfect spot for lunch and a pre-supper snack because of the chill ambience and filling meals.

The dish that we liked the most is their gambas al ajillo, and we think you would too. It’s a bit spicy with a hint of a tangy taste and the prawns are juicy as we dipped in olive oil and garlic sauce.

Another dish on the menu that captured our taste is the “Paella Senyoret. This paella is filled with peeled and de-shelled seafood and lobster that’s bursting with flavor.

To wash it all down, Bodega on Main also has a wide selection of beverages from beer, cocktails, wine, and sparkling. They also have an impressive selection of Spanish wines.

Ultimately, they’re a solid choice. We just wish they weren’t always frequently booked, especially during the holidays as it’s almost impossible to get a table.

Overall, Bodega on Main is one of the best continental restaurants in Vancouver that offers an authentic Spanish dining experience.

Pros

  • Specializes in Spanish tapas
  • Well-designed lounge and dining area
  • Online reservation system available
