The Langara Golf Course is located along Alberta street near South Vancouver. Made in 1926, this course has brought enjoyment to Vancouverites for many years, and to make sure it stays relevant, the greenery was redesigned by Canadian architect Thomas Mcbroom.
Golfers can choose to play the front 9, back 9, or all 18 holes depending on the challenge they want to face. The front 9 puts players in contact with some relatively narrow fairways, mind, so accuracy plays an important factor.
Alternatively, the back 9 offers longer shots but is littered with sand traps here and there. Overall, the course is easy to walk and many players both new and old enjoy honing their skills here.
We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the many rolling hills that are sprinkled all throughout the course. This adds another challenge that players must take into account when teeing off or driving
Pros
- Offers golf cart rentals
- Generally manageable for most golfers
- Tests golfers accuracy with narrow fairways
Cons
- No driving range

Customer Reviews
This course has earned much praise thanks to its excellent facilities and target-style course:
“McCleery is a great course and has a fantastic range and practice facilities. During covid they practice social distancing and are decently organized when it comes to letting people in to the pro shop and range. Although sometimes there are plenty of empty mats at the range, sometimes the staff can’t see and people need to wait longer than they need to. The course is awesome and well kept..” – JJ F.
“Paid this course a visit twice while I was in Vancouver during the summer. This is a public course which is very well take care of. The only problem with this course is the mosquitos. They will definitely eat you alive during the summer months, so bring repellent. The greens were great and always in god shape. For a public course , you can’t ask for much more. Hit them long and straight! The staff very super friendly and helpful!” – Jeff M.
